ABOUT BAILDONHALL

Baildon Hall was built by Robert Baildon during the mid 1500's on the site of a Mediaeval Manor House, parts of which still remain. It was used as a Social Club by the Auxiliary Fire Service during the war, and subsequently the present day club since 1946.

The Hall has been lovingly restored by the members over the years although work the work is still ongoing.

The main lounge is dominated by the magnificent 10ft stone fireplace which looks very attractive and extremely cosy in the winter months with the log fire burning. The lounge is a comfortable place in which to have a drink and meet friends. The cupboard door mounted on the wall bears the carved initials of Francis and Jane Baildon and was used as a livery cupboard.

The lower bar area is used mainly as a dining area. This was formely the Manor House kitchen. The fireplace we uncovered during the restoration work in the 1960's.
